HMM launches first direct connection between Indonesia and Latin America

HMM’s service connecting the Far East, India, and Latin America (FIL) made its first call at the port of Tanjung Priok in Jakarta, Indonesia on 8 June.

South Korea’s major ocean carrier launched the FIL service in December 2021 and recently added the port of Jakarta to the following port rotation:

Busan (South Korea) – Shanghai (China) – Ningbo (China) – Shekou (China) – Jakarta (Asia) – Singapore – Kattupalli (India) – Santos (Latin America) – Paranagua (Brazil) – Itapoa (Brazil) – Navegantes (Brazil) – Buenos Aires (Argentina) – Montevideo (Uruguay) – Santos – Singapore – Hong Kong – Busan

The 6,987 TEU Hyundai Shanghai was the first vessel arriving at the port of Tanjung Priok in Jakarta under the FIL service marking the company’s first direct service between Indonesia and Latin America.
