Hede Shipping updates Japan-Korea service routes

Tangshan Port’s Hede Shipping has announced changes to its China-Japan-Korea service network. The JW21 loop will now include calls at Hakata and Moji in Japan, replacing Busan in the rotation. To continue serving Busan, the carrier has introduced a new JW22 service.

The updated routes are:

  • JW21 – One 700 TEU vessel on an eight-day rotation: Tangshan → Huanghua → Weifang → Hakata → Moji → Tangshan.

  • JW22 – One 300 TEU vessel, operating weekly: Tangshan → Weifang → Busan → Tangshan.

According to Alphaliner, these changes are designed to enhance service coverage in the China-Japan-Korea corridor. By splitting Busan into a dedicated rotation, Hede Shipping can maintain regular port calls while improving transit efficiency for Japanese ports.

The adjustments also align with Hede Shipping’s strategy to optimize vessel utilization and better match capacity with market demand. The move is expected to strengthen trade links for exporters and importers across East Asia, offering more predictable schedules for cargo moving between China, Korea, and Japan.

With these updates, Hede Shipping continues to adapt to evolving regional trade patterns and maintain reliable feeder services in one of Asia’s busiest container corridors.
