Negotiations between the United States and China over tariffs began in London, UK, with a high-level US delegation meeting Chinese representatives in an effort to reach a trade agreement.



Talks begin without the expected surge in volumes heading across the Pacific to meet American consumer demand, or at least without the type of volume increase expected by container lines who rushed to redeploy recently moved vessels back into lucrative US services to meet the anticipated demand.
