Hapag-Lloyd implements reefer surcharge for Chile-Asia shipments

Hamburg-based container line Hapag-Lloyd has announced a new peak season surcharge (PSS) from Chile to Asia, including China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Laos and Brunei.

The new surcharge will be effective from 1 February and will apply to reefer containers. The German carrier set the surcharge at US$600 per refrigerated box.
