Hapag-Lloyd introduces peak season surcharge from Asia and Oceania to South Africa

Hapag-Lloyd has announced an increase in ocean tariff rates for shipments moving from North Europe to the West Coast of Latin America, the Caribbean, and Central America.

German container line Hapag-Lloyd has announced a peak season surcharge (PSS) from Asia and Oceania to South Africa, effective from 6 June until further notice.

The Hamburg-based ocean carrier will apply a US$1,000 per TEU from Asia and Oceania (Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, Cook Islands, Fiji, Micronesia, New Caledonia, New Zealand, French Polynesia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna Island) and mainland China to South Africa (Durban and Capetown).
