Hapag-Lloyd halts bookings from North Europe to Jordan

The German box carrier Hapag-Lloyd has announced a temporary booking stop for all new bookings from North Europe to the Port of Aqaba in Jordan.

The Hamburg-based container line said that it took this decision due to the high backlog of cargo destined to Aqaba, Jordan. The “temporary booking stop” measure is taking effect immediately.

“This is a temporary situation, and we will keep you informed of any further developments and aim to re-open the booking acceptance as soon as this is operationally possible,” said Hapag-Lloyd in a statement.
