Hapag-Lloyd extends service cancellations

In response to the current critical market conditions, through the effects of the global pandemic leading to changes in demand, Hapag-Lloyd has implemented the following void sailings on the west coast of South America and Mexico services from the Far East:

At the same time, the German carrier has announced the following service changes on the ISC/Middle East – North America services for the upcoming weeks:

The company offers the following alternative routings:

In addition, due to Covid-19 related measures in several countries which are resulting in operational challenges and unusually decreasing demand, Hapag-Lloyd will temporarily suspend the Indian Ocean Service 2 (IO2) eastbound until end of June 2020.

The last sailing on IO2 will be:

  • Vessel APL NEW YORK, voyage OEG62E, ETD Southampton 5 May 2020

The planned void sailings are listed below and subject to change according to demand:

It is planned to recommence the IO2 eastbound with:

  • MSC Valencia, voyage 2022E, ETD Southampton on 30 June 2020

Furthermore, the Hamburg-based shipping line has announced the following void sailing on its West Coast North America-Australasia (WSN) Service.

Kota Ekspres 018N, vessel will be phased out at Long Beach on 3 June, discharging imports only. The vessel will return to service at Oakland on 31 July for voyage 031S. As a result, voyages 022S and 027N have been cancelled.

“We request that you consider advancing your cargo to the vessels prior to the cancelled voyage or to the next sailing,” Hapag-Lloyd said.
