Hapag-Lloyd applies PSS from Europe to America

German container line Hapag-Lloyd has announced a new peak season surcharge (PSS) for shipments from Europe to America.

The surcharge will apply for Canada and Mexico from 15 May and the United States from 25 May.

The details for this peak season surcharge are listed below:

  • 20′ Containers: US$600
  • 40′ Containers: US$900

The PSS will be applied to all dry, reefer and high cube containers.

Hapag-Lloyd noted the geographical scope of the surcharge:

Europe: Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, United Kingdom, Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland

America: Canada, United States and Mexico
