Hapag-Lloyd announces GRI from Asia & Oceania to Africa

Hapag-Lloyd announces that a General Rate Increase (GRI) will be implemented for cargo transported from Asia and Oceania to Africa in 20-foot and 40-foot dry, reefer, and special containers, including high cube equipment.

This increase will apply to all containers gated in full from 1 March 2025 and will remain in effect until further notice.

The rate adjustment for this GRI is US$300 per TEU for 20’, 40’ and high cube equipment.

Asia and Oceania comprise Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, the Cook Islands, Fiji, Micronesia, New Caledonia, New Zealand, French Polynesia, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, and Wallis and Futuna Island.

In Africa, the affected destinations include Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Congo Brazzaville, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola, Namibia, South Africa, Kenya, and Tanzania.
