Hanseatic Global Terminals has agreed to acquire a 50% stake in Imetame Logística Porto, a joint venture with Brazil’s Imetame Group focused on container terminal operations.
The partners will jointly develop and operate the Hanseatic Global Terminals Aracruz terminal in the state of Espírito Santo. The facility will serve as a transshipment hub and gateway port on Brazil’s east coast.
Operations are expected to begin by mid-2028. The terminal will have an annual capacity of around 1.2 million TEU and a quay length of 750 metres. With a water depth of 17 metres, it will be able to handle large container vessels and will feature modern cargo-handling equipment.
Hanseatic Global Terminals said the investment strengthens its presence in Latin America and addresses growing capacity needs in the region. The company said the Aracruz terminal will offer cargo owners a more direct and efficient link to global shipping routes.
Imetame Group said the partnership will support efficient terminal operations while creating jobs and driving economic development in the region.
The transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals. Financial terms were not disclosed.
