GXO, Unilever agree 10-year deal for automated hub in France

GXO and Unilever have signed a ten-year agreement to build and operate a highly automated logistics hub in the Greater Paris area. The 60,000-square-meter site will consolidate all Unilever product families under one roof and is set to open in June 2027.

The facility will boost efficiency, reduce supply-chain complexity and improve customer service. GXO says the partnership demonstrates its ability to deliver tailored, automation-driven logistics solutions for major FMCG brands.

Under the deal, GXO will manage logistics and repacking and handle about 50 million parcels per year. The site will employ roughly 200 people at full capacity. Automation will be central to operations, including automated unloading, multi-depth storage and robotic layer picking, plus automated co-packing.

Sustainability is also a core focus. The custom-built hub aims for a BREEAM® “Excellent” rating, supported by energy-efficient systems, waste-reduction measures and responsible water use.

GXO already runs over 35 FMCG sites globally and ships nearly one billion cases annually. In France, the company operates more than 60 warehouses and employs over 8,700 people. The new Paris-area hub strengthens GXO’s position as a key partner for FMCG customers seeking scale, automation and greener logistics.
