GXO Logistics has officially opened a state-of-the-art distribution center in Dorsten, Germany. The facility follows a long-term, 20-year partnership with Levi Strauss & Co. and marks a key milestone in GXO’s expansion in Europe.
The fully automated site spans 70,000 square meters and can process over 10,000 units per hour. It features telescopic conveyors, mini-load systems, shuttle-based outbound operations, and ergonomic workstations. Packing uses recyclable paper materials, supporting GXO’s sustainability goals. The site currently handles up to 155,000 units daily and employs around 500 people.
Sustainability is a core focus. The center is Cradle to Cradle, LEED, and WELL certified. It includes solar panels, green roofs, walls of vegetation, EV charging stations, and advanced recycling facilities. GXO also invests in the local community, supporting initiatives such as the Dorsten 24h Charity Run and workforce inclusion programs.
Paul Mohan, GXO Managing Director for Continental Europe, said the site reflects GXO’s commitment to automated, sustainable, and tailored logistics solutions. Wade Webster, SVP at Levi Strauss & Co., added the facility strengthens their omnichannel distribution capabilities across Europe.
The Dorsten center is part of GXO’s broader German growth strategy. Germany now ranks among GXO’s fastest-growing markets, with a total of 500,000 square meters of tech-enabled fulfillment space.
