Greta Shipping to launch China–Dubai service

New market entrant Greta Shipping is set to launch a new service linking China and Dubai, according to data published by Alphaliner.

The service, branded CGX1, is scheduled to commence next month and will connect Chinese ports with Jebel Ali. While the service frequency and fleet deployment have not yet been disclosed, the first sailing is expected to be operated by a vessel with a capacity of approximately 1,800 TEU.

Under the planned rotation, the CGX1 service will call Jebel Ali – Qingdao – Ningbo – Jebel Ali, providing a direct link between northern and eastern China and the Middle East hub.

In addition to the CGX1 service, Greta Shipping will offer two further connections from Jebel Ali through cooperation with Hapag-Lloyd, one of which includes vessel contributions from Greta Shipping.

These services include the KWF service, operated by Hapag-Lloyd with two vessels and Greta Shipping with one vessel, calling Jebel Ali – Kandla – Karachi – Jebel Ali – Shuaiba – Shuwaikh – Jebel Ali.

Greta Shipping will also participate through slot arrangements in the JIX1 service, operated by Hapag-Lloyd with three vessels, connecting Jebel Ali – Nhava Sheva – Jebel Ali.

According to Alphaliner, the combined network strengthens Greta Shipping’s presence in the Middle East and South Asia, while leveraging partnerships to expand regional and intercontinental connectivity.
