Greta Shipping enters Middle East–Indian Subcontinent trade

Greta Shipping, a newly established carrier based in Singapore and fully owned by China’s Xiamen C&D Inc., is entering the Middle East–Indian Subcontinent (ME/ISC) trade with three feeder services, according to DynaLiners.

Founded in March 2024, the company will cooperate with Hapag-Lloyd to operate a mix of independently run and slot-exchange services. Greta Shipping will launch its own Jebel Ali–Karachi Express (JKX) using a 2,400 TEU vessel and will also take slots on Hapag-Lloyd’s revised Kuwait Feeder (KWF)—now extended to Kandla—and on a segment of the IG1 service.

In return, Hapag-Lloyd will market space on JKX under the same name.

The full configuration is as follows:

  • JKX: Greta Shipping-operated (Hapag-Lloyd slots), 1 x 2,400 TEU – Jebel Ali, Karachi, Jebel Ali

  • JIX1/IG1: Operated by Hapag-Lloyd (Greta slots), 3 x 3,500 TEU – Jebel Ali, Kandla, Nhava Sheva, Jebel Ali, Dammam*, Umm Qasr*, Jebel Ali

  • JIX2/KWF: Operated by Hapag-Lloyd (Greta slots), 2 x 2,000 TEU – Jebel Ali, Kandla, Jebel Ali, Shuaiba, Shuwaikh*, Jebel Ali
