ThPA S.A. welcomed Ms. Maja Gojković, President of the Provincial Government of Vojvodina, Republic of Serbia. She was accompanied by Mr. Nenad Ivanišević, Provincial Secretary for Economy and Tourism, Mr. Boško Vučurević, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vojvodina, Ms. Jelena Vujić Obradović, Consul General of Serbia in Thessaloniki, and Mr. Konstantinos Georgakos, President of the Greek-Serbian Chamber of Northern Greece.
The visit, organized by the Greek-Serbian Chamber, aimed to strengthen cooperation between Northern Greece and Vojvodina in trade, tourism, and the economy. ThPA S.A. CEO Dr. Ioannis Tsaras, Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Georgios Papageorgiou, and other executives joined the meeting.
Vojvodina is Serbia’s most developed region, with strong agriculture, industry, and research activity. Its location makes it a natural bridge between Serbia and Northern Greece, offering opportunities for new commercial, tourism, and production synergies.
The Serbian delegation received updates on ThPA S.A.’s investment plan, including the expansion of Pier 6. This major project boosts the Port of Thessaloniki’s competitiveness and reinforces its role as a key transit hub for Southeast Europe.
Discussions focused on expanding bilateral trade through the Greece-Serbia rail link and new intermodal solutions. Stronger supply chain corridors will create business opportunities and revive historic cooperation between the two countries.
Ms. Gojković thanked ThPA S.A. for the warm welcome:
“Our visit confirms our will to deepen commercial, tourist, and social ties. It highlights the prospects for closer cooperation in high-value sectors.”
Dr. Tsaras emphasized the port’s role as a bridge for future collaboration:
“Today’s meeting proves the strong potential for cooperation between Greece and Serbia. ThPA S.A. is proud to act as the link for this development.”
