A major development is underway at Scandinavia’s largest cargo hub as the Port of Gothenburg signs a long-term agreement with Wallenius Wilhelmsen, granting the global logistics provider operational control of the port’s 24-hectare car terminal. The transition is set to take effect on 2th of February.
Under the agreement, Wallenius Wilhelmsen will begin ramping up preparations for the handover, with a strong focus on increasing capacity, efficiency, and sustainability.
“We are very optimistic about Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s ability to continue developing the car terminal at the Port of Gothenburg”, said Göran Eriksson, CEO at the Port of Gothenburg earlier this year when Wallenius Wilhelmsen was appointed the concession.
This long-term partnership promises predictability and resilience for the port’s customers and stakeholders, while reinforcing Gothenburg’s standing as a key logistics and trade center in the region.
