Goltens Worldwide has opened a new service workshop in Batam, Indonesia, strengthening its footprint in Southeast Asia. The facility will support shipowners and operators with repair, retrofit, and engineering services in one of the world’s busiest maritime hubs.

Batam’s location, just across from Singapore, has made it a fast-growing centre for ship repair and retrofits. Goltens said the new site is equipped with advanced tooling and staffed by experienced engineers to deliver the same service quality the company has built over 85 years.
“This new facility in Batam represents a strategic move to support our customers as the Singapore market continues to change,” said Sandeep Seth, CEO of Goltens Worldwide. “Shipowners can be confident that Goltens will continue to provide the highest quality service, now with enhanced capabilities and flexibility in Batam.”
The company added that the investment reflects its long-term commitment to Southeast Asia. With the new workshop, shipowners can expect faster turnaround times, and lower logistics costs. Lastly, they can access to Goltens’ expertise in complex mechanical repairs, maintenance, and decarbonization solutions.
