Godby Shipping has acquired the RoRo vessel Transporter from Eckerö Shipping Ab Ltd, marking a key step in the company’s fleet expansion and long-term commitment to serving its core customers.
Built in 1991, Transporter offers a capacity of about 1,250 lane meters and is well-suited for paper transport as well as a wide range of rolling cargo, including trailers, mafis, trucks, and heavy machinery.
The vessel will continue operating under time charter with DFDS until December 2025, serving the liner route between Fredrikstad and Halden (Norway), Zeebrugge (Belgium), and Immingham (UK). The current crew will remain onboard to ensure seamless service continuity.
With the addition of Transporter, Godby Shipping’s fleet now totals eight vessels, further strengthening its role as a reliable tonnage provider in the RoRo segment. The company emphasized the continued strong demand for smaller-sized RoRo vessels and reaffirmed its belief in the future growth of this market.
