Godby Shipping announced that it has finalized the purchase of the RoRo vessel Transporter from Eckerö Shipping, Mariehamn. The deal was completed on 19 November, making the vessel officially part of the Godby fleet. As the sister ship to Aurora, Transporter is considered a strong fit for the company’s operations.
The vessel is currently on time charter to DFDS, operating on its liner route linking Fredrikstad and Halden in Norway with Zeebrugge in Belgium and Immingham in the UK. Transporter will continue under the DFDS charter until the end of December 2026, with additional extension options available. Godby Shipping confirmed that the vessel will retain its existing name.
With the addition of Transporter, the company’s fleet now comprises eight vessels, further reinforcing its position as a dependable tonnage provider in the smaller RoRo segment—a market where Godby Shipping expects demand to remain strong.
The company extended a warm welcome to the crew of Transporter, expressing its eagerness to work closely with them as the vessel integrates into the Godby fleet.
