Global Ports expands VSC equipment fleet

Global Ports Group’s Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company (VSC) has received ten Kalmar terminal tractors and ten Seacom semitrailers.

The equipment was moved from the Group’s North West terminal to enhance operational capacities of VSC, which is located in deep-water Port of Vostochny, Primorsky Krai, Russia, amid container market surge in the Far Eastern Sea basin. The vehicles are used to handle containerised cargo at berths, yards, and railway front.

The equipment was delivered to the Russian box terminal in two railway shipments. Logistics operator Ruscon, which is part of Delo Group, supported the transportation, providing forwarding services and developing special schemes for securing out-of-gauge cargo on the platforms for its safe transportation.

Previously, since the beginning of 2022, five more Kalmar terminal tractors, five Seacom semitrailers, as well as a Raniero forklift have been redeployed to VSC terminal as part of the project aimed at enhancing VSC capacity.

Additionally, Global Ports plans to transfer three RTG-s and eight Kalmar straddle carriers from the North-West to VSC, hence expanding the terminal equipment fleet by 20% in 2023.
