Geodis becomes shipping agent of Zéphyr & Borée in France

Geodis has entered into a collaboration agreement with Zéphyr & Borée, a French start-up pioneer in low-carbon marine transport that specialises in the construction of sail-powered cargo ships.

Zéphyr & Borée has appointed Sealogis, a subsidiary of Geodis, as its French shipping agency. As an agent, Sealogis will be in charge of presenting, promoting, and selling Zéphyr & Borée’s services to its shippers and forwarders.

To provide a completely coherent service, Sealogis will provide low-carbon land-based options for all pre-and post-carriage transportation related to the Zéphyr & Borée marine service whenever possible.

According to an agreement with the AUTF (Freight Transport Users Association), Zéphyr & Borée will begin operating a container shipping service on transatlantic routes in 2025. The wind-powered vessels will run a weekly service between Le Havre, Antwerp, and the US East Coast, as well as a similar service from Mediterranean ports.

“This commitment to Zéphyr & Borée clearly demonstrates Geodis’s desire to support the decarbonisation of maritime transport for the sake of the climate. Transporting freight via wind-powered cargo ships is an innovative project that Geodis will propose to its customers to support them in their sustainable performance,” stated Eric Martin Neuville, executive vice president of global freight forwarding at Geodis.
