GEODIS and Prologis activate rooftop solar project in Mexico to advance sustainability goals

GEODIS, in partnership with Prologis, has launched a 619-kilowatt rooftop solar installation at Prologis Park Grande, Building 3, in Tepotzotlán, one of Mexico’s key industrial zones.

The system is expected to generate approximately 892 megawatt-hours of low-carbon electricity annually, contributing to both companies’ environmental commitments.

Jessica Himmelreich, Vice President of Sustainability, Occupational Safety and Health, and Dangerous Goods at GEODIS Americas, said that  it supports the climate objectives and those of the customers.

The project aligns with GEODIS’ science-based climate targets, which include a 42% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions from fleets and buildings, and a 25% reduction in Scope 3 emissions intensity from subcontracted transport by 2030 (compared to 2022).

The new solar array directly contributes to lowering Scope 2 emissions by providing clean on-site energy and supporting sustainable building certifications.

It also supports Prologis’ global goal to install 1 gigawatt of solar capacity with battery storage across its real estate portfolio by 2025.
