Gebrüder Weiss strengthens El Paso operations

Gebrüder Weiss has announced the relocation of its El Paso, Texas operations, marking an enhancement to its expanding presence across the southwestern United States.

This strategic move supports the company’s continued commitment to enabling cross-border commerce between the United States and Mexico.

The company anticipated the trend toward nearshoring, and appointed industry expert Antonio Acuña as Director of Border Logistics. The relocated facility at 1273 Joe Battle Boulevard strengthens operational capacity through additional warehousing space designed to improve cross-border operational effectiveness.

During the initial five months of 2025, US-Mexico goods trade reached $359.6 billion, maintaining Mexico’s status as America’s primary trading partner.

May’s bilateral commerce alone achieved US$74.5 billion.

However, recent tariff announcements from the Trump administration have created new uncertainties. An April-issued 90-day suspension excludes Mexican imports falling outside the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement framework.

Consequently, manufacturers across automotive, aerospace, and technology sectors are reevaluating their supply chain strategies.

Acuña stated that the El Paso team comprises cross-border logistics specialists prepared to assist customers managing this dynamic environment through storage solutions, customs proficiency, and alternative routing options that enable continued progress.

Beyond serving as a crucial international trade hub, the El Paso area ranks as the Western Hemisphere’s fifth-largest manufacturing region. To accommodate this trade volume, the Gebrüder Weiss facility features enhanced secure storage capabilities and sophisticated technology for streamlined customs processing.

Mark McCullough, CEO of Gebrüder Weiss North America commented that El Paso facility and warehouse capabilities reinforce the strategic positioning at the Southern Border for customer advantage.
