Gebrüder Weiss opens new branch in Texas

The oldest transport and logistics company worldwide, Gebrüder Weiss has announced the opening of a new branch in the city of El Paso in Texas, US, which is expected to become a future hub for full load transports between Mexico and the United States.

This step constitutes an effort to respond to the growing flow of goods between the two countries, as well as the resulting high demand for transport capacity, said the Austria-headquartered firm in its statement.

“Mexico’s position as a production location for the US automotive, steel, and textile industries is becoming increasingly important. With our new location in El Paso, we can now offer our customers cross-border transport services with a focus on full loads,” explained Mark McCullough, country manager of Gebrüder Weiss US.

The 1474-established company noted that with a population of around 700,000, El Paso is the sixth-largest city in Texas and a major border crossing point for goods travelling between Mexico and the United States, with its largest industries including textiles, automotive, biomedical and electronics.

Gebrüder Weiss has been active in the US with its own national company since 2017, headquartered in Chicago. From this date, the global logistics provider has expanded its network with a current total of eight locations, including Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, El Paso, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco.
