Fujairah F3 Power Plant Project: Fujairah Terminals handles three Gas Turbines

Fujairah Terminals, a subsidiary of AD Ports Group, has achieved a milestone in the construction of the Fujairah F3 Power Plant Project by successfully handling three of the biggest gas turbines ever placed in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) area.

The Fujairah F3 Power Plant Project, scheduled for completion in 2023, will be the biggest Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) facility in the country, providing enough energy to power the equivalent of 380,000 UAE households.

Each of the three gas turbines weighs 528 tonnes and measures 13.85 metres in length, 6.12 metres in width, and 5.98 metres in height.

Mammoet, a heavy lifting and transport expert, is in charge of receiving, transporting, and installing the components.

Fujairah Terminals, which was founded in 2017 following the signing of a 35-year concession deal between AD Ports Group and the Port of Fujairah, is the only multi-purpose port on the UAE’s eastern shore.

The terminal reached a significant milestone in 2021 as part of its long-term expansion plan, which included the construction of new infrastructure to accommodate an annual capacity of 720,000 TEUs and a general cargo capacity of 1.3 million tons.
