Fremantle Ports to invest in Victoria Quay improvements

To better public amenities on Victoria Quay (Australia) over the next two years, Fremantle Ports will spend US$5,32 million.

The funds will contribute to improving the shade, seats, and public spaces in the cultural heritage grounds.

In this way, Fremantle Ports believes the area will become more attractive and comfortable for both locals and tourists.

In addition, Fremantle Ports will focus on improving pedestrian and cycle links to and from Victoria Quay.

The Government of Western Australia has also made an allocation of US$2,48 million in the State Budget to the Western Australia Museum.

These heads will be given for repairs and improvements to the submarine HMAS Ovens at the WA Maritime Museum on Victoria Quay and surrounding slipways.

Fremantle Ports believes that all these activities, which will make the spaces on Victoria Quay more welcoming, will encourage the public to visit and appreciate the working port and its history covering trade, immigration, indigenous, labour and its support role during wartime.
