Fincantieri has delivered Atlante, the second Logistic Support Ship (LSS) for the Italian Navy, at its Castellammare di Stabia shipyard. The handover is part of the fleet renewal program managed by OCCAR (Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation).
The ceremony was attended by senior representatives from the Italian Navy, OCCAR, NAVARM, and Fincantieri, including Admiral Vincenzo Montanaro, Logistic Commander of the Italian Navy, and Biagio Mazzotta, Fincantieri Chairman.
Atlante joins Vulcano, delivered in 2021, to strengthen Italy’s naval capabilities. The ships support defense, international peace and security, public emergency response, humanitarian aid, and Civil Protection missions.

Built by the Temporary Business Grouping (RTI) of Fincantieri and Leonardo, the LSS units feature flexible, innovative designs. Low-emission propulsion systems and advanced effluent control technologies reduce environmental impact.
