Fincantieri and Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the MSPO Defence Industry Exhibition in Kielce. The agreement sets the stage for long-term collaboration to support the modernization of the Polish Navy, with a focus on the ORKA submarine program.
The MoU was signed by Mauro Manzini, Fincantieri’s Naval Vessels Division VP Sales, and Jan Grabowski, PGZ Vice President. Under the agreement, the companies will explore joint opportunities in design, construction, and life-cycle support of advanced naval platforms, including submarines.
“Poland is a key strategic partner for Fincantieri,” said CEO Pierroberto Folgiero. “We bring over 180 submarines’ worth of experience and advanced naval expertise to support the ORKA program and build long-term cooperation with PGZ.”
The partnership combines Fincantieri’s shipbuilding technology with PGZ’s industrial base, central to Poland’s defense modernization. Together, the companies aim to develop solutions not only for the Polish Navy but also for international markets.
PGZ is Poland’s leading state-owned defense group, active in shipbuilding, offshore construction, and modernization of the Polish Armed Forces.
