FESCO starts new service linking Russia with Japan

The Russian logistics company FESCO has launched Japan Trans-Siberian Line 2 (JTSL 2), a new regular service that will connect Commercial Port Vladivostok (CPV) in southeastern Russia with the Japanese ports of Toyama, Hakata, Kobe and Yokohama.

In the near future, regular ship calls to Port Niigata in Japan are considered to be added to the container service.

JTSL 2 has been launched as a response to the increased volumes of transit traffic to 855 TEU from Japan via Russia in 2021, according to a statement.

Operation of the line is provided by container vessel FESCO Yanina with a capacity of 962 TEU, with a voyage turnover of 14 days.

Service JTSL 2 will complement the existing Japan Transsiberian Line (JTSL) that connects Japanese ports Sendai, Yokohama, Shimizu, Nagoya, Kobe, Toyamashinko, as well as Korean port Busan with CPV and Port Vostochny.

JTSL, which is operated by two vessels, reached more than 25,000 TEU in 2021.

On the basis of its own assets, FESCO provides delivery of cargo from and to countries of the Asia-Pacific region via the Far East to regions of Russia and Europe.
