FESCO and Russian Railways dispatch record number of double trainsets from Vladivostok

Within a week, FESCO Transportation Group (FESCO) and Far Eastern Railway, a division of JSCo RZD, deployed twelve double container trainsets from the Commercial Port of Vladivostok (CPV) in Russia.

The average length of the combined trains was 126 standard rail cars (72 fitting platforms) filled with containers from China, the Republic of Korea, Vietnam, and Japan.

Standard container trains departing from CPV are made up of 63 conventional rail cars on average (36 fitting platforms).

The largest number of double trainsets despatched from CPV in a week, according to 2022 figures, was just seven coupled trains.

The technology of double trainsets allows the optimisation of production processes at a freight station, an increase in the number of rail dispatches, a reduction in the delivery time of products in containers, and a reduction in the strain on the Eastern polygon’s infrastructure, according to a statement.
