Ever Liberal back in action

Ever Liberal, Evergreen’s 9,466TEU vessel, which suffered a stack collapse in the Pacific while heading for Los Angeles, has been repaired and has re-entered service.

[s2If is_user_logged_in()]The event on Ever Liberal was comparatively minor compared to similar accidents on the ONE Apus and more recently the Maersk Essen, but Evergreen has confirmed that the vessel entered Taipei safely on 2 January.

“The damaged containers were then off-loaded and the minor damage to the hull structure was repaired. The ship received classification society’s approval of seaworthiness and resumed service on 6 January. The incident caused a schedule delay of eight days and Ever Liberal arrived at the anchorage of Los Angeles on 18 January. The ship berthed on 26 January due to port congestion.”[/s2If]
