European senior lines unveil new June rates

Hapag-Lloyd has announced the following ocean tariff rates for all cargoes in 20’ and 40’ containers, including high cube boxes, on the westbound trade from East Asia to North Europe and Mediterranean.

Valid for sailings commencing on  1 June 2020 onwards and until further notice, Hapag-Lloyd’s ocean tariff rates from East Asia, including Japan will be as follows:

In addition, the German shipping line will apply a new general rate increase from the Indian Subcontinent (ISC) and Middle East to the US and Canada as outlined below, with the effective date 15 June 2020.

Teh GRI will apply for all dry, reefer, non-operating reefer, tank, flat rack and open-top containers.

  • US$640 per 20′ standard container
  • US$800 per 40′ standard container (40′ x 8’6″)
  • US$800 per 40′ high cube container (40′ x 9’6″)
  • US$800 per 40′ reefer container (40′ x 9’6″)

Indian subcontinent: India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka
Middle East: UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Jordan

Moreover, Maersk has announced an increase in rates freight of all kinds (FAK) rates from Visakhapatnam and Krishnapatnam to West Africa:

Furthermore, CMA CGM has published a new general rate restoration (GRR) from China, South Korea & Taiwan to West Africa all ports for all cargo dry, reefer, OOG and breakbulk,  effective from 1 June 2020 (B/L date):

  • US$500/20′ | US$1,000/40′

At the same time, the new French GRR from South East Asia & East Coast of India to West Africa for all cargo dry, reefer, OOG and breakbulk, effective from 1 June will be:

  • US$500/20′ | US$500/40′
