
In the second quarter of 2025, European countries showed mixed performance in the UNCTAD Liner Shipping Connectivity Index (LSCI), which benchmarks global maritime connectivity.
Several countries saw declines: Italy dropped 1.4% to 283.5 points, France 0.4% to 265, Portugal 4.7% to 176, Sweden 6.6% to 113, Malta 4.6% to 105, Denmark 1.9% to 87, Slovenia 1.6% to 76, and Croatia 0.4% to 60.
Conversely, gains were recorded in Spain (up 0.3% to 425), the U.K. (up 3.2% to 393), the Netherlands (up 1.4% to 385), Belgium (up 1.1% to 347), Germany (up 5.5% to 322), Turkey (up 11.1% to 316), and Poland (up 2.5% to 135).
