EUROGATE Technical Services GMBH orders Agilon automated warehouse solution from Konecranes

EUROGATE Technical Services GmbH has bought Konecranes’ Agilon warehousing system to provide 24-hour, simple, and secure access to commodities in an energy-efficient and completely trackable manner.

The solution is used for vehicle repair operations at EUROGATE’s Bremerhaven harbour terminal in Germany. The order was booked in the third quarter of 2022.

The Agilon automated material handling system from Konecranes provides clients with comprehensive visibility and rapid access to their commodities, according to a statement.

This is the first Agilon warehouse solution at a German port, and EUROGATE will employ automation to provide consistent and dependable availability of port handling equipment in a safer and more timely manner, while also saving storage space.

“One of our targets for the investment was to improve work safety. Having now all vehicle spare parts and maintenance tools in one place removes the traffic between two floors. Additionally, we save space on the workshop floor for other purposes. Agilon standardises pickup times and keeps spare parts protected from light and dust, too,” stated Bjørn Erdmann, head of logistics at EUROGATE Technical Services GmbH.

Interconnected Agilon system units with two robots and two user access points were included in the order and delivery. The solution will be linked to the SAP system at EUROGATE. The system was delivered and installed in September 2022, with a full-service agreement that includes predictive maintenance and 24/7 remote customer care included.

“Agilon is a proven solution for managing large spare part warehouse operations in several industries,” added Vesa Hämetvaara, director of the Agilon business.
