Ellerman City Liners launched on June 25th a new inland rail connection between Łódź and Gdynia, enhancing the reach and efficiency of its iPEX Polish Shortsea service. The new route, developed in close partnership with Spedcont and Bahnoperator, marks a significant milestone in its intermodal expansion across Poland and Northern Europe.
The newly operational rail link connects Spedcont’s inland terminal in Łódź directly with Gdynia Container Terminal (GCT), creating a fully integrated supply chain solution.
This inland corridor is especially valuable for short sea shipments to and from the United Kingdom, enabling faster turnaround times, increased predictability, and enhanced routing flexibility.
The service represents a step change in how cargo moving inland across Poland is connected to global markets.
“This connection isn’t just about moving containers from A to B. It’s about creating a smarter, greener, and more responsive logistics ecosystem” said Peter Andrews Ellerman City Liners Commercial Director.
