Duvenbeck expands in Bavaria with Erich Haslbeck acquisition

The logistics company Duvenbeck is enhancing its presence in Bavaria by acquiring the operations of Erich Haslbeck, a freight forwarding company headquartered in Niederviehbach near Dingolfing, Germany, effective 1 July 2024.

Founded in 1971, the Haslbeck family business specializes in factory traffic for the Bavarian automobile industry and provides freight forwarding and logistics services for Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and the construction industry.

“The scope of the company’s services and its excellent location between Landshut and Dingolfing ideally complement our business activities in the fields of transport and contract logistics. We’re combining two advantages through the takeover: we‘re not only moving closer to the Bavarian automobile industry, but Haslbeck also offers us access to new industrial sectors and we can now offer them full logistical services, including warehouse and contract logistics, in southern Germany,” stated Hakan Bicil, the CEO of Duvenbeck, explaining the development.

This acquisition expands Duvenbeck’s fleet by 75 tractor units and 140 trailers, which operate throughout Bavaria and Germany, handling both full and less-than-truckload shipments. The new location offers 1,000 square meters of covered space and 2,000 square meters of outdoor space for warehouse logistics, with parts of the facility potentially available for rental by other haulage companies.

Approximately 90 employees will join the Duvenbeck team, with Bernhard and Christian Haslbeck, the previous managing partners, remaining to assist with the integration process.

This move represents another step in Duvenbeck’s diversification and growth strategy. Earlier this year, in February, the company expanded its operations in the Benelux region by acquiring the Dutch transport and logistics company Schotpoort Logistics.
