DP World proceeds with Sokhna Logistics Park development

DP World has reached a major milestone in the development of the Sokhna Logistics Park in Egypt, with 65% of the first phase now already completed.

Spanning 300,000 m², DP World aims to enhance its global network providing cost-effective and integrated supply chain solutions through the facility.

The park, located 10 kilometres from Sokhna Port, offers direct access to Greater Cairo’s key markets and major industrial zones. Its location could enable businesses to reduce operational costs and improve efficiency with streamlined cargo movements, according to DP World.

Scheduled for completion in June, the park aims to drive efficiency, reduce logistics costs, and strengthen connectivity between Egypt, the Middle East, Africa, and beyond.

The US$80 million logistics hub, strategically located in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), is also set to enhance Egypt’s logistics infrastructure and position the country as a key regional trade hub, according to DP World’s statement.

The facility has already drawn interest from both local and international markets, including businesses already established in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) in Dubai looking to expand regionally.

The park is expected to feature bonded and non-bonded warehouses, office space and open cargo and container yards, with logistics activities including warehousing, freight forwarding, customs clearing, and value-added services like labelling, coding, sorting, packing and inspection.
