DP World secures space at SEGRO Park Coventry

SEGRO, a UK Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), has secured a pre-let with DP World Logistics, at SEGRO Park Coventry, its 810,000m² development site in Warwick District.

SEGRO has completed extensive remediation work to turn the former landfill site into a modern, sustainable logistics centre with up to 345,000m² of new industrial and warehouse space.

The project will comprise a 950,000m² community-based park with pathways, bike paths, and new forests and wetlands.

The new 55,500m² unit, which will be occupied by DP World Logistics, will be the fourth building at the development, following a 27,870m² pre-let to a leading delivery company last year and SEGRO’s decision to build two speculative units of 13,000m² and 20,450m² that will complete in September 2023.

The facility will be designed to high sustainability standards, aiming for a “BREEAM Excellent” grade, in keeping with the company’s Responsible SEGRO pledge to achieve net-zero carbon by 2030.

Among other things, the building will include photovoltaic panels, office content heated by air source heat pumps, and 20% of parking spots equipped with electric vehicle charging stations.
