DP World expands freight forwarding to Sweden

DP World will launch freight forwarding operations in Sweden in February 2026. The new offices in Stockholm and Gothenburg will connect Swedish importers and exporters to DP World’s global network.

The offices will support trade routes to the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, and Latin America. They strengthen DP World’s network of 180 business units in 70 countries.

Regional partners will support the expansion, including DP World-owned Foodtankers, Business Sweden, local warehousing providers, and pre- and final-mile transport companies.

DP World will deploy its Cargoes platform to streamline Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and customs operations for Swedish exporters.

Stephen Whittingham, EVP – North Europe, said: “Our new operation will connect Swedish businesses to our global network, create jobs, and expand technology-driven logistics. Sweden’s culture of innovation, collaboration, and sustainability makes it a natural partner for DP World in the Nordics.”

Bojan Knightly, Country Manager – Sweden, added: “The Stockholm and Gothenburg offices will give customers a simpler, faster, and more transparent way to move goods globally. We look forward to growth across Sweden and the Nordics.”

DP World Sweden will target up to 25% of shipments via rail and sea in its first year to reduce road emissions. It will also implement 100% e-documentation to eliminate paper processes.

The operation will support local education and equality initiatives through partnerships with Transportföretagen and Logistiknätverk Göteborg, fostering innovation and skills in the logistics sector.
