DP World has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with global payments platform PayPal to launch a digital payments initiative aimed at simplifying cross-border trade.
The partnership aims to reduce settlement times from up to a week to just minutes. It will provide merchants, shippers, exporters, importers, and marketplaces with faster, more transparent, and lower-cost payment options.
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, DP World Group Chairman and CEO, said: “Speed and transparency are critical in logistics. Our collaboration with PayPal gives customers faster, more transparent, and secure cross-border payments. By simplifying global transactions, we help businesses of all sizes grow and operate efficiently across markets.”
Alex Chriss, PayPal President and CEO, added: “Global trade works best when payments are fast, transparent, and secure. This partnership sets a new standard for cross-border payments and supports more connected, inclusive financial services worldwide.”
By combining DP World’s supply chain expertise with PayPal’s payment infrastructure, the initiative aims to reduce friction in international trade and boost business efficiency.
