DHL Supply Chain has named Orkun Saruhanoglu as its first Chief Executive Officer for the Middle East and Africa (MEA). The new role reflects the company’s growing focus on the region.
Saruhanoglu, a DHL veteran of 27 years, will report directly to Hendrik Venter, recently appointed CEO of DHL Supply Chain. He previously led DHL operations in Türkiye and Central & Eastern Europe, where he expanded automotive logistics, built strong customer networks, and played a key role in creating the ASMO joint venture with Aramco in the Middle East.
The move strengthens DHL’s management structure in MEA and supports growth across sectors including automotive, aviation, energy, e-commerce, and fashion. DHL is also investing more than €500 million in the Middle East, with Saudi Arabia and the UAE as key markets.
With Africa’s rapid e-commerce growth and improved infrastructure attracting global investment, DHL aims to expand its contract logistics services and strengthen supply chain resilience across the region.
