DHL strengthens leadership in industrial projects and customs

DHL Global Forwarding, Freight has made two key executive appointments to boost growth in Industrial Projects and Customs, two critical focus areas under its Strategy 2030.

Martyn Lawns becomes CEO of DHL Global Industrial Projects. This specialized unit handles complex project forwarding for energy, mining, engineering, and infrastructure sectors. Lawns will expand DHL’s capabilities in projects supporting the energy transition and infrastructure development. He will also continue leading DHL’s groupwide New Energy initiative, driving logistics solutions for electric vehicles, battery supply chains, and renewables.

“Martyn’s leadership will help scale our Industrial Projects business to meet global demand,” said Oscar de Bok, CEO DHL Global Forwarding, Freight.

Greg Nichols, Senior Vice President, Global Customs, will head DHL’s integrated Customs Product. Nichols has delivered major innovations since 2019, including DHL TradeConnect, a digital customs platform, and a standardized global customs framework. He will focus on enabling smooth, compliant cross-border trade.

“Customs is now a strategic enabler of global trade,” de Bok added. “Greg’s leadership will help customers navigate complexity and unlock growth.”

These appointments strengthen DHL’s ability to deliver scalable, customer-focused logistics solutions and reinforce its role as a trade enabler worldwide.
