
Leadership Transition Effective December 1, 2025
DHL Global Forwarding has appointed Tobias Maier as Chief Executive Officer for the Middle East & Africa region, effective December 1, 2025.
He succeeds Amadou Diallo, who will step down after more than 30 years of international leadership within DHL Group.
Experienced Leader with a Digital Vision
Tobias Maier brings extensive experience in finance, digital innovation, and strategic growth.
Since joining DHL in 2008, he has held multiple leadership roles, including CFO for the Middle East & Africa and CEO of Saloodo! Middle East & Africa, DHL’s digital freight platform.
He played a key role in regional M&A activities and in expanding DHL’s operations in Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Ethiopia, and the UAE.
He also helped launch DHL’s RailDirect joint venture with Etihad Rail, advancing multimodal logistics across the region.

Amadou Diallo’s Legacy of Growth and Innovation
Amadou Diallo leaves behind a powerful legacy. Since taking the helm in 2017, he significantly expanded DHL Global Forwarding’s presence in the Middle East and Africa, promoted sustainable logistics, and led major investments in key markets.
Throughout his 30-year career with DHL, Diallo served in senior roles including Global CEO of DHL Freight and CEO for DHL Global Forwarding South Asia Pacific.
Born in Senegal, he has also been a strong advocate for youth empowerment in Africa and actively supports healthcare and food security initiatives through philanthropic and non-executive work.
