DHL builds carbon-neutral logistics center in Rheinbach

DHL Supply Chain, the specialized contract logistics division of DHL Group, is expanding its presence in the Rhineland economic region. The company is building a new 26,600 m² carbon-neutral logistics center at the Wolbersacker industrial park in Rheinbach. The facility is scheduled to go live in August 2026.

The new center will provide modern warehousing and transshipment space to meet rising demand for high-performance logistics solutions. It is designed to improve supply chain efficiency and flexibility for companies in the region.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Carbon-Neutral Design: The facility follows the Gold Standard of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).

  • Energy Efficiency: Includes a 1.0 MWp photovoltaic system, 229 kW battery storage, efficient heat pumps, and energy-optimized LED lighting.

  • Modular Space: The warehouse can support conventional storage, e-commerce fulfillment, or automated solutions.

  • Strategic Location: Close to the A61 motorway, Cologne/Bonn Airport, and Düsseldorf Airport, enabling faster domestic and European deliveries.
