DACHSER is expanding its Hegau-Bodensee logistics center in Steißlingen with a new warehouse building. The facility offers 8,950 square meters of logistics space and room for 22,000 pallets.

The company is also expanding its existing transit terminals for industrial goods, consumer goods and food. The investment responds to demand from new and existing customers in industry and retail for additional storage capacity.

DACHSER is building the new logistics warehouse with state-of-the-art technical equipment at its Steißlingen location. The company offers the full range of logistics services there, including small parts warehousing and value-added services such as finishing and labeling.

DACHSER Steißlingen currently has over 45,000 pallet spaces across its warehouses in and around Singen. The expansion will increase that total to 67,000.

The new warehouse will feature more office space and modern common areas. The facility is scheduled for completion in early 2027 and is expected to initially create 30 to 50 jobs.

DACHSER is expanding the two existing transit terminals at the site simultaneously. Once completed, 9,350 square meters will be available for handling industrial goods—an increase of 2,760 square meters. The refrigerated space for food handling will reach 4,200 square meters, an increase of 1,370 square meters.

Murat Paso, Branch Manager of the Hegau-Bodensee logistics center, said the investments create additional logistics capacity. He spoke at the symbolic ground-breaking ceremony on January 23, 2026.

“We’re investing not only in space, but above all in future viability,” Paso said. “This includes improving the way we get our power.”

DACHSER is building a new transformer station as part of the new warehouse. The station will increase grid connection capacity from 720 to 3,200 kilowatts. The investment enables further expansion of electromobility at the site.

The company is building four charging stations with 400 kilowatts of power for e-trucks and battery-electric yard transfer vehicles. There will also be two 180 kW charging stations and three 50 kW charging stations.

The branch deployed its first e-truck in 2025. DACHSER plans to purchase further battery-electric transport vehicles in the coming years.

The existing photovoltaic system will expand from 163 to 493 kWp, with potential to go higher. There will also be an energy management system including battery storage. Work is underway to set up another PV system over the course of the year.

The Hegau-Bodensee logistics center was established in 2009 and currently employs around 375 people. Every year, the branch handles some 900,000 shipments weighing 550,000 metric tons for its customers in industry, consumer goods and food.
