Crowley welcomes LNG-powered Tiscapa

Crowley has officially added Tiscapa, its newest LNG-powered containership, to its growing fleet as part of its continued efforts to enhance cargo services across the U.S., Caribbean, and Central America. The vessel began its inaugural commercial voyage this week, departing from the Port of Jacksonville, Florida.

Part of the modern Avance Class, Tiscapa is built to carry up to 1,400 TEUs, including 300 refrigerated containers. Fueled by LNG, the vessel is designed not just for capacity, but for cleaner, faster, and more frequent cargo delivery, offering a lower-emissions solution.

”With its LNG-powered design and expanded capacity for dry and refrigerated goods, Tiscapa enhances our ability to provide faster, dependable service”, said Andrew Davis, vice president of operations, Crowley Logistics.

The vessel is initially serving the region in a transition phase, with plans to begin regular rotation between the U.S., Dominican Republic, and Central American ports. Cargo types will include a broad mix, from perishables and household goods to medical supplies.
