Covid-19 case forces Hapag-Lloyd vessel to quarantine

A crew member of Hapag-Lloyd’s container ship Nordic Hong Kong has tested positive for Covid-19 in Brazil. As a result, the Brazilian health authority has instructed the 3,400TEU vessel to perform a 14-day quarantine.

Nordic Hong Kong is deployed on the German carrier’s Conosur Service and Hapag-Lloyd has published the following schedule recovery plan for its boxship.

Hapag-Lloyd has announced that imports to Guayaquil, Arica will be transhipped onto the next Conosur vessels, while export from Rio de Janeiro will be also rolled to the next Conosur ships.

“We are working with the relevant authorities on a timely resolution,” said the Hamburg-based shipping line in its announcement.
