COSCO SHIPPING Ports exceeds 35M TEUs, reports over US$380M in Q1 revenue

COSCO SHIPPING Ports has announced a total throughput of 35.75 million TEUs in the first quarter of 2025, translating to a 7.5% increase over the same period last year.

Additionally, the Chinese operator has generated revenue of US$381.5 million, representing a 14.7% growth year-on-year. The company has also recorded a Q1 profit attributable to equity holders of US$83.9 million, translating to an increase of 33.5% over the same quarter in 2024, while its gross profit increased by 20.2% year-on-year to US$105.2 million.

“In the first quarter of 2025, amid insufficient global economic growth momentum, rising trade protectionism, and persistent geopolitical tensions, COSCO SHIPPING Ports proactively seized market opportunities, actively addressed risks and challenges, and countered external uncertainties with the certainty of its own development,” commented the Chinese firm in a statement.

According to the company’s latest results, COSCO’s terminal throughput in China increased by 7.7% to reach 27.17 million TEUs in the first quarter of the year, representing 76% of the Group’s total throughput. The remaining 24% came from COSCO’s overseas terminals, where throughput grew by 6.7% to 8.58 million TEUs.
