
COSCO SHIPPING has officially welcomed the COSCO SHIPPING Panama, the second vessel in its fleet powered by methanol dual-fuel technology.
The naming ceremony took place at COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry’s Pier No. 3 in Yangzhou. This new addition marks another step forward in the company’s push for greener shipping solutions.
Measuring 366 meters long and 51 meters wide, COSCO SHIPPING Panama can carry up to 16,136 TEUs. It features an 11,000-cubic-meter methanol storage tank, marine boilers, and generator sets built for dual-fuel operation. The vessel can switch between methanol and conventional fuel, depending on voyage requirements.
With this launch, COSCO SHIPPING continues to invest in alternative fuels and sustainable innovation. The COSCO SHIPPING Panama sets a strong example for the future of green container shipping.
