COSCO SHIPPING LINES has issued an operational advisory as security concerns escalate in the Middle East and maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz faces restrictions.

The carrier said it is closely monitoring developments and maintaining communication with relevant authorities, emphasizing that the safety of crews, vessels and cargo remains its highest priority.

Under the current measures:

  • Vessels that have already entered the Gulf have been instructed, once operations are safely completed, to proceed to safe waters to hover or anchor.

  • Vessels destined for Gulf ports have been directed to prioritize navigational safety, including reducing speed, proceeding to designated safe waters or awaiting further instructions at sheltered anchorages.

The company confirmed it is assessing contingency plans for cargo onboard affected vessels, including the possibility of alternative discharge ports, in accordance with its Bill of Lading terms and conditions.

COSCO SHIPPING LINES said it will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates through its official communication channels as further information becomes available.
